There is no more under-reported tidbit to professional athletes than how much their crew matters. Actually it is almost inaccurate to tie it to professional athletes because 95% of what is true for them is true for everyone else but on a smaller scale.

My wife powered through The Hills on Netflix this last month. There was a glaring role I saw over and over again that holds very true for professional athletes. There are people who will always try to position themselves in the guys corner by telling them to take the easy road in the short term. These people care only about holding on to the gravy train and don't care if it goes off the tracks after they've fallen off themselves.

It just seems weird Kahn would say that publicly, and so soon into the Beasley-TWolves era. Especially with wanting to give him a fresh start and all. At least he was being honest. Good point.

It just seems weird Kahn would say that publicly, and so soon into the Beasley-TWolves era. Especially with wanting to give him a fresh start and all. At least he was being honest. Good point.

One reason is to put a public weight on Beasley to be true to his word. It also puts weight on his crew to be what Beasley has seemingly sold them as.

Along those same lines if Beasley hasn't grown up it makes it just that much easier to lump blame on him.

It is probably something Beasley freely admits as well since he was in treatment. It obviously was spoken of between the two of them. Part of getting better is openly admiting what was wrong.

Yeah...I think for Kahn to be this open about it, he must of talked with Beasley about it. Kahn's not stupid enough to ruin the relationship with Beasley already.

I guess my initial concern about Kahn saying this was just that it could hurt Beasley's image. Hopefully Kahn and Beasley have discussed beforehand and all is well.

If Beasley plays great next year having it out there will almost help his image. Redemption stories work better with drug use.

Yes, it's always a good strategy to bring up the bad habits of your players. Great move. Now the commish Stern has fined Kahn $50K and the team another $50K. Kahn likes to hear himself talk too much.
