Steve Greenberg/Sporting News with some observations after watching informal workouts at the Target Center that included Al Jefferson, Ricky Davis, Corey Brewer, Sebastian Telfair, Rashad McCants, Ryan Gomes and Chris Richard:
 
The first thing that struck me: Well, the NBA’s
forgotten team is soldiering on without Kevin Garnett. And: Al
Jefferson — the all-but-forgotten main piece in the trade that sent
away Garnett, the heart and soul of the franchise — is a beast.
 
 
 
 
 

"After I saw KG hold up my old jersey, it sunk in," said the
21-year-old Green. "That’s when I knew I was gone, I was out of here.
But it’s a business.


"I feel honored to be traded for a guy like Kevin Garnett. And then he’s wearing my jersey? So, I’m honored."

 


For starters, some of us went up to Boston for the RBK Family Reunion, where Allen Iverson, Baron Davis, Gerald Green, Shaun Livingston and Marvin Williams were among the ballplayers who took the diamond in a NBA vs. media softball game…G-Money isn’t a natural on the diamond, but the guy is just an athlete;
he knocked one ball about 300 feet and he doesn’t even really know what
he’s doing.
