Britt Robson/On The Ball on last night’s loss to the Pacers:
Meanwhile, point guard remains the biggest obstacle to this squad
reaching 30 wins. Maybe Randy Foye will become The Most Improved Player
in the NBA, as more than one national magazine has predicted (albeit
some of them fantasy-oriented stat-freak pubs). But right now he and
Telfair have lost two-thirds of the preseason games to injury and you
have Al Jefferson filling the Garnett role of barking loudly at Jaric
in the second half of last night’s tilt…

It doesn’t have to be an either/or thing with Gomes and Brewer. There
will be times when they’re on the floor at the same time. Gomes will
see minutes at power forward in a smaller lineup. Gomes does a lot of
little things well; he averaged 12.1 points and 5.6 rebounds while
starting 60 games for the Celtics last season…

On Rashad McCants:
Shooting guard Rashad McCants, who had impressed Wittman with
his consistent play during preseason play, knocked knees with an
opponent during the game Friday at Indiana and suffered a bruised left
knee.

He missed Saturday’s game and didn’t play Tuesday. Wittman hopes he will be available for Friday’s preseason finale.

Wolves owner Glen Taylor said he isn’t sure what the
team is going to do to trim its roster to meet NBA rules. But guard
Greg Buckner won’t be bought out, Taylor said. Buckner’s leadership
makes him valuable.

Minneapolis/St Paul Business Journal on the team’s new marketing campaign:
The campaign, created by Martin|Williams Advertising of Minneapolis, is
intended to showcase the young and largely unknown squad. It will debut
Wednesday night with the airing of the first of four new television
spots.

The spots will feature Archibald "Sweetwater" Jones, a 3’11" ABA and NBA journeyman from the 1970s.

Timberwolves Today with their list of the best looking Wolves ever.

Timberwolves people will tell you first round pick Cory Brewer has a
ways to go on offense but has been fearless in his approach to defense
this preseason.

The Wizards Etan Thomas on the support he received after finding out he had to have open heart surgery:
My off season trainer Jeff Rosga, of Lifetime Fitness, also put me in
touch with Fred Hoiberg. Even though they were all the way in Turkey at
the time, he still made it a point to call me, talking to him was great
as well.
