Point guard Randy Foye should make a difference for
the Wolves once he’s cleared to resume all basketball activities, which
could be as soon as Monday, when he’s scheduled to have his injured
left knee re-examined.

Sichting said he thinks it will take Foye a week or
two of practice to get in game shape. But once he’s ready, Foye should
add more scoring punch and ability to the free-throw line, among other
things.

"We all call and talk to each other all the time," Brewer said. "I’ll
talk to Joakim two-three times a week. Me and Al will talk every other
day, Taurean maybe once a week. Chris is right here. It’s been a big
adjustment for all of us, but we keep each other pumped up. We’re all
going to make it in this league."

A scheduling quirk allowed Brewer, Richard and Horford to enjoy an
evening together in the same city without a game to play, but it won’t
happen too often, not with hectic travel schedules and back-to-back
games.

"It’s kind of like a little fraternity we have," Richard said before
the Timberwolves-Hawks game Thursday. "We’re on different teams now,
but we still support one another. And we all need it to some degree."

Marko Jaric after last night’s game:

"This is the best basketball ball I have played since I have been here.
Hopefully we are going to continue winning and hopefully I will stay
here."

Rick Alonzo/Pioneer Press on Saturday’s game:
Many in the sellout crowd of 19,356 stood in the
final minute. Wolves fans have wanted a reason to cheer. The Wolves
gave it to them with one of the most surprising upsets in the NBA this
season.

"Definitely this season, it’s the biggest of all three victories," said guard Marko Jaric, laughing a little.

Stephen Litel/Downtown Journal on last night’s win.

The Wolves outrebounded the Suns 55-33, including
19-8 in offensive rebounds. Al Jefferson had 20 rebounds and Corey
Brewer added 11, Craig Smith eight.

"I think they did a great job inside, particularly,"
Suns guard Steve Nash said. "I don’t know the numbers, but it seems
like they got a lot of rebounds."

Our guy, Gomesy, is averaging 24 minutes a
game, 8.9 points and four rebounds. He’s started all but one game. A
day doesn’t go by when someone doesn’t tell me that they rue the day
Gomes was dispatched to the prairie in the trade that made the Celtics
a winner, and the T-Wolves a disaster.
