The Wolves (5-29) ended their losing streak at eight
games behind McCants’ 27 points and double-digit scoring from the other
four starters.

From Ira Winderman/Sun-Sentinel:
Whether it was making Timberwolves guard Rashad McCants look like an
All-Star or being pounded in the paint, the Heat had the look of a team
running on empty. McCants led the ‘Wolves with 27 points.

From the Star Tribune:
MVP Rashad McCants, Wolves
Delivered his third consecutive 20-plus point game with a 27-point
night that included 18 points before intermission and five three-point
attempts among his 24 shots.

From Ira Winderman/Sun-Sentinel:
By record, this was the sixth-worst matchup at this point in a season in league history, with the teams entering with a combined 12 victories. The worst with two teams having played at least 30 games apiece was the 5-27 Mavericks against the 2-48 Nuggets in January 1998.

From Jerry Zgoda/Star Tribune:
Wolves players credited Monday’s grueling practice for their fast start
on a night when Wittman inserted Rashad McCants into the starting
lineup alongside fellow guards Marko Jaric and Sebastian Telfair. The
home team produced enough energy to make Miami coach Pat Riley
desperately search for what Riley termed "someone who [could] guard
somebody."

"We had a strong running practice yesterday and we got the idea where Coach was coming from," Telfair said.

From Rick Alonzo/Pioneer Press:
It was the 18th different starting lineup through 34
games this season. McCants responded by scoring 27 points on 12-of-24
shooting, though he was 2 for 10 in the fourth quarter.

From Jon Krawczynski/AP Sports:

Two former Timberwolves — Ricky Davis and Mark Blount — were non-factors in their first game at Target Center since being traded for Antoine Walker and Michael Doleac before the season began. Davis had five points and Blount added nine.
