The Wolves can bring players to Target Center for workouts and
interviews after the predraft camp ends this weekend. Stack said the
team will bring between eight and 10 players to town, opting for
"overkill" instead of risking being unprepared.

A Houston Rockets representative will attend those workouts in exchange
for allowing a Wolves scout to observe player workouts in Houston. The
Rockets pick 25th and will audition a collection of players the Wolves
will consider for their two second-round draft picks, selections 31st
and 34th overall.

With Beasley and Rose expected to become the first two players chosen,
the Wolves’ third pick will determine how the rest of the draft plays
out. The Wolves will evaluate that list of eight to 10 players for
their first-round choice in case they trade down in the draft to get a
targeted player plus either players or extra draft picks.

Got some steam for my Team of 1707. Indeed, MAYO, BAYLESS and LOPEZ are being considered at number three, but trading down is a legit option. In fact I believe the Wolves already have fielded a call inquiring about number three. Hmm? Trading down for a top-10 pick and a current player is being discussed and trading down for West Virginia’s JOE ALEXANDER is being discussed. Decision makers over there love the kid’s game. In the few times I saw him play last year kid looked like a bonafide stud.

Only at Bnei Hasharon could Ndudi Ebi’s success story
have occurred. The Nigerian player landed at Bnei Hasharon earlier in
the season with baggage that seemed to assure his signing would turn
out a failure: Ebi had not completed a single season at a team for the
past five consecutive years…

Jason Fleming/Hoopsworld on Rashad McCants:
The latter half of this past season was the first time McCants has been healthy and consistent. He needs to do it for a full season and prove he can be a starting shooting guard in the NBA before the Wolves commit to longer term.

The Timberwolves need a center to build on their improved play late in
the season, and Stanford big man Brook Lopez fills that bill.
