Coach Randy Wittman said guard/forward Mike Miller “tweaked” his ankle about an hour into today’s practice: “But he got X-rays and it was negative. Hopefully, it’s just a small thing.”

Wittman said the Wolves would see where Miller is at Tuesday before making a decision on whether he plays in that night’s exhibition game at Chicago.

Rashad McCants practiced fully after hyperextending his elbow Friday in Denver, but he is expected to play. So, too, is Craig Smith, who missed the last two games because of swelling in his surgically repaired knee.
Smith said he will wear a compression sleeve on his knee and also will ice it when he flies.

Miller has two years and almost $19 million left on his contract, and he said he would prefer to play out his contract in Minnesota. The $9 million he’s making this season makes him very movable and plenty of teams would likely have interest if the Wolves put him on the market. However, don’t expect Miller to be moved unless the organization gets bowled over by an offer.
The bottom line is Miller is happy in Minnesota and the organization is happy to have him.
After the first week of play in the NBA’s exhibition season, Mayo (now with Memphis) Westbrook (Oklahoma City) and Love (Minnesota) have shown flashes of talent, and, yes, some rookie goofs.
Members of the Wolves staff donated over 750 volunteer hours Friday to renovate The City, Inc of Minneapolis. The transformation project included refurbishing a gym, cafeteria, two bathrooms and a brand new reading and learning center. Around 50 staff members arrived at 9:00 A.M. to begin the renovation project and reinforcements arrived shortly after to put the finishing touches on the project.
