Rashad McCants has looked awesome so far…
The Wolves welcomed Sebastian Telfair back from his three-game NBA suspension, just in time for Wednesday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs at Target Center.
“I feel like I just got drafted and I’m about to play my first NBA game,” Telfair said. “I’m excited to come back. You know, it makes me feel good that my team is excited to have me back and I’m anxious to get out there.”
Bryan Armen Graham/SI.com lists Kevin Love at #7 on his current list of the top 10 rookies.
Love is averaging 8.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists through three games as a reserve power forward. He’s struggled offensively against opposing frontcourts and seemed to regress a bit during the week, recording just four points and four rebounds in Saturday’s come-from-ahead loss to Oklahoma City. Off the court, Love is blogging for NBA.com. A sampling: “Up here, unlike in college, even playing in the Pac-10 against a lot of guys who would be drafted into the NBA, everybody is at the elite level of athleticism and physicality. Everybody’s big, everybody’s strong, everybody’s fast.”
“I don’t want to be looked at as just a rookie,” Love said. “I want to be a guy that can come out and thrive on the opportunity for minutes and get rebounds, know the defensive spots and know the plays. I also want to be known as a good locker room guy and a good community guy as well.”
“I just turned 20 years old, and these guys aren’t necessarily my peers,” said Love. “So I’m just adjusting to the defensive aspects of the game, and also learning the new sets, learning to play with these guys because I haven’t played with them (much). That’s been the biggest adjustment — just getting out there.”
