Al Jefferson Press Conference Reacting to the Release of Kevin McHale…
Jefferson on his reaction to McHale’s release:
“I was more shocked, disappointed and hurt, but at the same time I understand that it’s a business. I talked to David (Kahn) before the decision was made and I knew he had a decision to make at the end of the day. And I knew, at the end of the day, he was going to do what was best for the team. That was the decision he came up with. I just have to accept it and move on from it.”
Jefferson on when he found out:
“I found out last night. I got a phone call from (Kevin McHale) and I talked to him. He was hurt more from the fact that he couldn’t come back and coach us. He understands. He’s been in this business a long time and he knows how it goes. He left me with some good words. Like I said, you just have to move on from it.”

Jefferson on whether McHale was upset:
“Nah, he wasn’t upset. He understands how the business goes. He’s been around a long time. He knew there was a possibility this could happen and was prepared for it.”
Jefferson on Kevin Love tweeting the news:
“That’s something I just still don’t understand. I haven’t had a chance to talk to him yet. But I really believe everybody ought to let him know that was a bad mistake.”
