Look for Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Kurt Rambis to be offered and accept the Minnesota Timberwolves head coaching job within days.

Based on Rambis’ experience, the current coaching market in the NBA and the time it will take the Wolves to rebuild, Rambis can expect a four-year contract worth about $8 million.

The early front-runner for the Wolves’ job was NBA TV analyst Mark Jackson, but it became evident that the Wolves couldn’t hire Jackson without some coaching experience.

Rambis, 51, is a former Lakers power forward.
