We officially tied the franchise worst losing streak
From the Pioneer Press:

“No doubt the losing wears on you,” Wolves guard Ramon Sessions said. “We need a win. Nobody in this league is going to feel sorry for us.”

The Wolves (14-60) also had 16-game losing streaks in 1991-92 and during a stretch that covered the 1993-94 and 1994-95 seasons. The team has not won since a 91-88 victory at Miami on Feb. 23. Unless the Wolves find a way to beat Sacramento on Wednesday night at Target Center, they will finish 0-14 in March.

Well… we need to win Wednesday night to stop the streak, as well as stop a winless month of March.  Is it possible?  We play the Sacto Queens at Target Center, so if not now… then never.

Nets are no longer the suckiest team ever

From the Star Tribune:

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The New Jersey Nets notched their 10th victory Monday night, avoiding any chance of tying for the worst record in NBA history by beating the short-handed San Antonio Spurs 90-84.

Bummer.  We at least had that to fall back on, for a while.

Don’t feel bad if you haven’t been watching the games…

Here’s a recap of the last three losses from Howlin’ T-Wolf:

So how bad is bad? Well it’s pretty bad. The Wolves will need to find a way to pull themselves together and win one more game of the last 8 to not finish with the lowest win total in franchise history. If it doesn’t come Wednesday night against the Kings I really don’t know where they’re going to get it.

Tell it like it is.  I can’t blame you there.  And to answer his question, it’s been VERY BAD.

corey-brewer

Corey Brewer for Most Improved Player??? Wait… what?

From the Star Tribune:

Yet that’s what the team will propose today when it launches a campaign with voting media members to promote third-year guard Corey Brewer for the league’s Most Improved Player award.

Call me a “Hater”, but I just don’t really see any scenario where this possibly happens.  Nice show of moral support by the Wolves organization though!  Better than nothing, I guess.

love

Per Jerry Zgoda on Twitter, I never would have guessed in a bazillion years:

Kevin Love’s 23-pt, 22-reb game Sunday was NBA’s first 20/20 game off the bench since Shawn Bradley did it in April 1998.

Well, congrats to KLove for that.  Welcome (back) to the NBA!
Wolves dead last in NBA Power Rankings

Per Chris Mannix at CNNSI.com:

Moral victories are the only ones the Wolves are celebrating these days. Consider: As proof of the team’s progress, some Minny players pointed to the one point they pulled within in loss No. 60 to Phoenix. “I don’t believe the record demonstrates the progress we’ve made,” Kurt Rambis said. “If you go back to the beginning [of the season], we’re a completely different ball club now.”

Not overly shocking.  I can’t say we don’t deserve it.  And the Nets are STREAKING HOT right now.  Hell, they might pass us for the second worst record.  Yeah, we really suck. We all know it. Thanks SI.
Cole Aldrich Leaving For the NBA

More from CNNSI.com:

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Cole Aldrich, fighting back tears, said Monday he’ll skip his senior year at Kansas and head for the NBA.  The 6-11 center, who averaged almost a double-double for the Big 12 champions, is projected by most experts as a high first-round pic

It’s going to be a fight to the death between the TWolves and Pacers for the opportunity to draft this stiff.

Danny Granger is really good

Ian Thomsen at CNNSI.com:

Every story has a beginning, a middle and end. Granger is one NBA star who doesn’t view his career as the end, the culmination. He understands that he wouldn’t be the reigning most improved player and an All-Star last season if not for his troubled beginnings, and especially the roots laid down by his father, Danny Granger Sr.

The Twolves didn’t need him. Heeeeeeelllo Rashad McCants.

You have to see this to believe it

On the Pioneer Press website, in the TWolves section: check out the “Latest Post” Widget.  Clicking the most recent post, “The Rise of Pecherov” is just a hoot… I can’t believe anyone ever thought he could be a serviceable player.  Yikes.  Epic Fail.
Lastly, aren’t you all glad we don’t have this guy anymore?
