The Minnesota Timberwolves and restricted free agent forward Ryan Gomes have agreed in principle on a five-year contract.

From the Canadian Press:

The deal was agreed upon Friday, agent Bob Myers said. Gomes was expected to sign the contract on Tuesday…

Myers declined to divulge financial terms of the deal, but said it includes a player option for the fifth year.

From the Pioneer Press:
The Timberwolves will discuss the five-year deal reached with
restricted free-agent forward Ryan Gomes at a news conference today at
a Minneapolis community center where he recently donated an automated
external defibrillator.

Timberwolves Vice President of Basketball Operations Kevin McHale will
join Gomes for a 3 p.m. press conference on Tuesday, and afterwards
we’ll talk to Gomes individually to obtain a more intimate reaction…

Minnesota’s roster is now all but finalized, as the two remaining free
agents (Michael Doleac and Chris Richard) are expected to depart and
return, respectively.

Assuming Love is ready to start alongside Jefferson right away — and
with the sharpshooting Miller poised to give the Wolves’ much-needed
dose of experience — it would appear that Gomes is most likely to come
off the bench with Smith, with McCants and Brewer in the mix as well.

"I think that around the organization there’s a lot of optimism, and I think he feels the same way," Myers said.
