The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team’s
2008 preseason schedule. The Wolves will play eight preseason games, with two
home games slated for Target Center. The Wolves will also host two U.S. Bank
Classic games in Billings, Mont., and Bismarck, N.D.

The Timberwolves tip off their exhibition schedule on Monday, Oct. 6 vs. the
Bucks at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. The team will then head to Billings,
Mont., on Oct. 8 to host Oklahoma City in the first of two U.S. Bank Classic
games, with the second coming against the Denver Nuggets in Bismarck, N.D., on
Oct. 19. In between, Minnesota will play road preseason games at Denver (Oct.
10), Chicago (Oct. 14) and Toronto (Oct. 16).

The Timberwolves wrap up their exhibition schedule by playing the final two
games at Target Center (Oct. 22 vs. Chicago and Oct. 23 vs. Milwaukee)…

Interesting to note: The only real “home” games are on consecutive
nights at the end of the pre-season schedule. The Wolves then have six
days off before opening the season at home against Sacramento on Oct.
29. Camp opens Sept. 30 in Mankato.

The NBA is coming back to Billings.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will play
Oklahoma City in a preseason meeting on Wednesday, Oct.8, at the
Rimrock Auto Arena, according to an announcement made today.

"It’ll be a great opportunity to see two
great young teams," said Kevin McHale, the Timberwolves’ vice president
of basketball operations. "The fans get to see them up close and
personal."

The last time Billings was host to an NBA preseason game was in 2005 when Minnesota took on Indiana.
