Mike Trudell/Timberwolves site talks to advance scout and assistant coach Brent Haskins about Mike Miller’s shot:
Years and years and years of practice and repetition. He gets his shots
up and works on his game every day. It’s no accident that he makes
(shots). He has great technique and follow through … His lift isn’t
that great, but it doesn’t have to be. He’ll be able to shoot for years
and years because he doesn’t really jump high on his shot. He’s big
enough and strong enough where he doesn’t have to have as much lift.
But it’s his work ethic and practice throughout the years that now he
maintains every day (that makes him great).

Jason M Williams/RealGM previews the Northwest Division:
The O.J. Mayo for Kevin Love trade was a great trade for Minnesota. They may have traded one of the best talents in this year’s Draft, but the best part of the deal was that they were able to jettison Antoine Walker and Marko Jaric all the while adding Mike Miller to the team. Sure, they had to take back Brian Cardinal, but having another big white man on the team is better than having a 52nd point guard (Jaric) doing nothing but having a stupidly hot fiancé. The Love and Jefferson frontcourt is going to be a joy to watch, and the T-Wolves landed a steal when they absorbed Rodney Carney from the Sixers for nothing but a little bit of cap relief (so Philly could steal Elton Brand from Los Angeles).
Tim Chisolm/TSN posts a preview of the Wolves upcoming season.
For now, the Timberwolves have to go about developing their plan of attack. In addition to Jefferson, this team has to look at getting more out of guards Randy Foye and Rashad McCants – especially in terms of consistency. They are going to have to go about helping Corey Brewer unearth any kind of scoring touch. They need to figure out a workable rotation with forwards Mike Miller, Ryan Gomes Rodney Carney, Kevin Love and Brewer. In all they have a lot to discover and they need find out whom they have and whom they want for the future. For today, though, there is Jefferson and that’s about it.
