Minnesota Timberwolves star Al Jefferson vows he “will be back better than ever” from a torn ACL in his right knee that ended his season in February.
Speaking publicly for the first time since he was injured against New Orleans on Feb. 8, Jefferson says he is on track to be ready for the start of next season.
HeJ spoke publicly this morning for the first time since he learned he tore his knee ACL in a game at New Orleans on Feb. 8 and underwent surgery three weeks ago today in New York City. He entered the Target Center media room after his teammates completed their morning shootaround Wednesday on crutches, his right leg wrapped in a heavy brace.
“I hate these,” he said of his crutches.

So far, he has only gently tested the range of motion on his knee on an exercise bike. He said he hopes to get off his crutches by the end of next week and begin a rehab process that he says might limit him in training camp but won’t stop him from starting next season healthy and ready to play.
