From Timberwolves blog Dunking With Wolves: 1997 or 2010?

From El Mundo Deportivo (link and translation via Hoopshype)
DKV Joventut president Jordi Villacampa will held a meeting with his staff on Friday to study the latest offer from Barcelona.
From Sportando (link and translation via Hoopshype):
After the rumors reported by Marca on the transfer of Ricky Rubio to Barcelona, the Spanish point guard said that “no one from Badalona called me, so I am still a player of Joventut”.

When Kurt Rambis was hired a couple weeks, both he and Kahn said they hoped the coaching staff would be in place by Sept. 1.

That’s Tuesday.

The other day, Kahn said the team was “a long ways away” when I asked him if Bill Laimbeer and Reggie Theus were going to join Dave Wohl on Rambis’ staff.

He wouldn’t comment on either fellow, saying “I wouldn’t want to see anybody get hurt.”

The Wolves’ opening exhibition game, against Milwaukee at Mankato’s Bresnan Arena, was moved from Oct. 5 to Oct. 4, the team announced. Tickets for the 5 p.m. tipoff go on sale Wednesday.
In its predictions for rookie of the year, ESPN has Jonny Flynn tied for 2nd place
Flynn is generally considered the most NBA-ready rookie east of Blake Griffin, and he’d better be — he’ll be starting from day one for the Timberwolves. Unless, of course, the Wolves actually do coax Ricky Rubio to join them, in which case the PG controversy born on draft night will be revived.

From Hoopsworld: NBA CHAT WITH COACH MIKE MOREAU
Dave in Milwaukee:
Hey Mike! I hear my homeboy Corey Brewer is down there! What’s he working on? How’s he doing? Does he have any midrange game yet? 🙂
Mike Moreau:
He looks great – getting that explosiveness back and really working on his handle and stroke.  He really has nice shooting mechanics, and the key is harnessing the athletcism of the move into a controlled shot.  He’s doing all the right things to get there.

From Oly Sandor/Hoopsvibe: It’s time for the Minnesota Timberwolves to trade Ricky Rubio

With any luck, we won’t have to hear about Ricky Rubio for a long while. Let me start by saying that my reasoning for not drinking the Rubio Kool-Aid has nothing to do with Ricky Rubio the person. Rather, it’s predicated by the second-hand hype he’s received that is based largely on three things:

1. He’s young and can dribble between his legs, behind his back and has shaggy hair. Therefore, he’s the reincarnation of Pistol Pete.
2. He has court vision and can make nice passes on the break. Therefore, he’s the successor to Steve Nash.
3. He looks like a Jonas brother. Therefore, he must be marketed and brought to the U.S.
