With the NBA trade deadline Feb. 21, Minnesota swingman Greg Buckner doesn’t plan to ask for a trade.
But if one happens, he won’t complain.
"If an opportunity comes and I can be in a better situation as far as

Wittman wants to see McCants play well even when
he’s not scoring by being aggressive, getting to the free-throw line,
involving his teammates on offense and playing high-energy defense.

"The effort of what you’re doing on the floor can’t

rebuilding around Al Jefferson, who came in the Garnett trade, and
Randy Foye, who is injured. They are hoping the process is quick, but
it probably won’t be.

Youth movements seldom are.

The Timberwolves will name John O’Connell marketing director.

The Timberwolves are 4-28, but coach Randy Wittman said he isn’t concerned about losing his job.

From the Star Tribune:
The Timberwolves began anew by trading Kevin Garnett last summer. It’s
too bad they couldn’t have done so with the collection of precocious
players assembled the first time Al Jefferson, Corey Brewer and
Sebastian Telfair played together.

Those three future Wolves arrived in Oklahoma City four years ago this
March for the annual McDonald’s All-American game that still ignites
debate in NBA locker rooms everywhere whether the prep talent assembled
that spring was the greatest ever.
