John Vomhof Jr/Minneapolis St Paul Business Journal on the results of ESPN’s annual Ultimate Standings: Fan Satisfaction Rankings:
The Wild ranked 31st among 122 professional teams based on what they give back to the "fans who invest their time and money in the organization." The Minnesota Twins ranked 39th, the Minnesota Vikings 110th and the Minnesota Timberwolves 118th…

…The Minnesota Vikings and Timberwolves, meanwhile, scored below-average
in every category. The Vikings scored highest in bang for the buck (83)
and lowest in stadium experience (120). The Wolves highest ranking was
96th in bang for the buck and its lowest was 120th for title track.

And if you’re a conspiracy theorist you can even point out that Tom
Mauer, the clock operator Monday night, was from the Minnesota
Timberwolves, where Detroit Pistons Coach Flip Saunders once coached.

But whatever you do, do not — I repeat, DO NOT — try to blame the clock
operator for the Orlando Magic’s Game 2 playoff loss to the Detroit
Pistons.

There is little love lost between Kevin Garnett and former teammate Wally Szczerbiak, who plays for the Cavaliers. The two played together in Minnesota for 6 1/2 seasons, before the Timberwolves traded Szczerbiak to the Celtics in 2006. Garnett was asked if Cleveland was an ideal situation for his former teammate. He paused for more than 10 seconds before answering. "Sure," said Garnett. "It’s the first I’ve ever heard a question about Wally and his situation. He’s got a guy who is dominant on the ball and he can play second-tier. I guess, yeah, sure. I don’t really know how to answer that."
