It was interesting to note that nobody–Jefferson, Smith,
Wittman–seemed especially disheartened by the loss, perhaps knowing
that playing hard, entertaining games while positioning themselves for
more ping-pong balls is not a bad outcome for a ballclub that just
dumped Theo Ratliff and have the word "build" prominent in its new
marketing campaign. (Fresh removed from two championships, Corey Brewer
was the exception, dejectedly talking about the free throw that likely
would have iced the game for Minnesota in the 4th quarter.)

Corey Brewer didn’t practice Monday, could barely walk at all with a
thigh contusion, sustained in a collision with Seattle’s Kevin Durant
late in overtime, that Wolves coach Randy Wittman seemed quite
concerned about.

Mike Trudell/Timberwolves site talks to Kirk Snyder:
MT: Yes sir. Now, do we have a little East Coast – West Coast
(facetious) tension between you and Sebastian Telfair. I saw you look
his way when he was blasting Notorious B.I.G. the other day.
Snyder: I’m not into that as much as I am not being a Sebastian Telfair
fan because he got drafted in front of me, right out of high school.
That’s predominantly where the discrepancy came from. That’s what it
is. It’s not a rap thing. But if I said to say, I’m pretty diverse. I
like a lot of different types of music.

Snyder: Yeah actually, I write some R&B music. They may not be one thing or another, I just like getting words down.
Walker had his opportunity to leave the Timberwolves. Now, one of two things will occur: He’ll either remain in the Twin Cities until his contract expires at the end of next year, or he will eventually be traded to the team of the Timberwolves choosing, most likely another team that will not be going anywhere. Throughout the season he has spoken about how winning is the only thing important to him, but when given an opportunity to back up his words, he is unable to take the chance.
