Peter Vescey confidently claimed last night Love has demanded out of Minnesota

Surrounding the trade deadline, there are always rumors flying around. Every player in the Association has gone through them and if you listen to the players, it can hamper their play. In Minnesota, we have one of the biggest question marks in the NBA in Kevin Love. If you go onto any site or listen to any “expert”; the majority of them say via sources or whoever that it is a lock he will be in purple and gold in the 2015-2016 season.

Before the all-star break, Love did an interview with GQ explaining how he’s content and happy with the Timberwolves. Here’s what Love had to say: “People think it’s so far-fetched that I would stay in Minnesota,” he says. “And I’m not shitting on the Lakers, but we have the better team, the better foundation. I’m having fun. That gave the Wolves and their fans some relief heading into the All-Star game. After his fun weekend, it was back to business on trying to get his squad into the playoffs.

What a tough task to start off with: the best of the East Indiana Pacers From the start of the game, Love looked like he was on a mission. He led Minnesota to defeat the blue collar Pacers 101-94 with 42 points and 16 rebounds. Not to mention, it was his eighth 25 points and 10 rebounds game in a row. This team played with some intensity we haven’t seen all year, with the second and third top scorers out due to injury. Wolves Nation was starting to feel relief, thinking maybe we could get on a roll.

Then, about an hour after the game, NBA Columnist Peter Vecsey tweeted of Love’s dissatsfaction, and folowed it up with confident detail that apparently Love told Flip Saunders he is demanding a premature exit from Minnesota. The dominoes kept falling after that, as ESPN 1500’s Darren Wolfson tried to crack the code if that was true. Saunders came out with a tweet saying what Love told GQ is what he has been told, which cooled down talks. He also told reporters after today’s practice that “Peter Vescey, who I don’t think I’ve really talked to, comes out with a story. Me and Flip were laughing about it this morning.” This should hopefully put this temporary story to bed for now, but it surely is just the tip of the iceburg as far as media-driven stories related to Love.

Here’s what I think Wolves fans and Minnesota should do: Wait the course. See how this season goes, who knows, there is still a remote chance that this team could sneak into the playoffs. Talk to Love in the off-season; see what his plan is for making this team better. He is so up and down with this franchise, but I have a strong feeling that this will be Adelman’s last year as head coach. That opens the door for Flip to come in and coach again. So, it’s not really a rebuilding project. We always say this, but the future is bright in Minnesota. With Rubio continuing to grow as a shooter, Martin and Pekovic penciled in for the long haul, this team has a legit shot at success. For now, stay the course and do whatever we can to make Love a happy camper, after all, he had a say in the new practice facility, right?
