Martin McNeal/Sacramento Bee on Al Jefferson:
Minnesota Timberwolves center-forward Al Jefferson was putting up ridiculous numbers in relative anonymity just last week.
Now, the 24-year-old, the key acquisition in the trade that sent Kevin Garnett to Boston two years aso, is beginning the tedious, painful rehabilitation from a torn ACL.
Jefferson hurt his right knee late in a Feb. 8 game at New Orleans. He scored 25 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in that contest one night after registering 36 points and 22 rebounds against Houston.
Jefferson had been virtually unstoppable in the low post. Jefferson’s hands are so large he can palm the ball off the dribble. He has a jump hook that may be the closest thing to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s famed sky hook.
A rumor from ClutchFans (Via MNSportsFans):
A source close to the team tells ClutchFans that Houston has been heavily involved in several trade discussions, most recently with New Jersey involving guard Vince Carter and Minnesota for guard Mike Miller.
From The Vegas Scene:
On Friday, newly single Khloe Kardashian of the E! show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, was joined by her sister Kourtney and her brother Robert as she hosted the anti-Valentine’s Day party at Tao. The group ate dinner and then cut into a heart-shaped cake with a crack in it to symbolize poor Khloe’s broken heart. The group headed upstairs where they were greeted to…Khloe’s ex- NBA star Rashad McCants. If there were video cameras around we would have smelled a little Punked Joaquin Phoenix style but the Kardashian sister was definitely shocked by his presence.
