Rodney Carney v. Corey Brewer
Who do you like?
I started a forum post on this subject over the weekend, and figured why not try to find out what the general public thinks? Here’s what I wrote:
Rodney Carney:
- Currently has no contract, so he would need to be resigned.
- Monster jams, very athletic and energizing.
- Can hit the three with regularity.
- Average defense, but definitely not terrible.
- Great attitude, seems like everybody likes him.
- Can’t dribble, but neither can Brewer.
- This year’s stats: Minutes per game (17), FG% (41.7), 3PT% (36.2), Rebounds per game (1.9), Assists per game (0.3), Points per game (6.8). These stats are a bit misleadering however, because he got very sporadic minutes at the beginning of the season, and he’s been playing awesome lately.
Corey Brewer:
- Already under a guaranteed contract for next season, so we would have to trade him.
- Supposedly athletic, but appears much less so than Carney.
- Coming off a major knee injury, and unlike Al, he needs the explosiveness.
- Cannot shoot. At all.
- Cannot dribble, but neither can Carney.
- Great attitude, seems like everybody likes him.
- Supposed to be a great defender, but I haven’t been convinced yet at the NBA level.
- 2007-08 stats: Minutes per game (22.8), FG% (37.4), 3PT% (19.4), Rebounds per game (3.7), Assists per game (1.4), Points per game (5.8)
So, who do you guys want? Honestly, I’d trade Brewer if we could and resign Carney if we can get him cheap (which shouldn’t be a problem.) Granted, if we could actually bring in a legit NBA SF like Gerald Wallace or someone in the draft; then I’d have no problem getting rid of both Carney and Brewer.
Thoughts?
