Alec Schimke/Timberwolves Press started a petition because the “glass cleaner product to promote Kevin Love is identical to what I (he) created and the two products look very similar.”
After missing the last two games because of a bruised hip, sixth man Rodney Carney is expected to be back in the Timberwolves’ lineup for Saturday night’s game against the Phoenix Suns at Target Center.
The news wasn’t as good on starting guard Randy Foye, who practiced but will miss his seventh straight game because of a bone bruise in his hip.
“He could play tomorrow if we wanted him to,” coach Kevin McHale said, “but I just don’t think he could be effective.”
Foye has not played since March 27 because of a nagging hip injury that has sapped him of his quick first step and ability to explode to the rim for much of the last two months. His injury-ravaged Wolves (24-55) are limping to the finish of another disappointing season that has included four losing streaks of at least seven games.
Yet there he was on Friday, smiling for nearly an hour straight while taking two foster children in search of adoptive parents on a shopping spree at a local Target.
“It’s just fun to come out here and do things like this for kids,” Foye said. “You know that they need it and you know they appreciate that you’re giving it to them.”

Ian Thomsen/SI.com polled a half-dozen NBA advance scouts and pro personnel executives on, among other things, rookie of the year candidates.
Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook and Timberwolves forward Kevin Love also received consideration. “Westbrook is a stats filler,” a panelist said. “He needs to learn to limit his turnovers and improve his decision-making. His shot is not broken; he has a good-looking shot, and as it develops he’s going to be dangerous because he attacks so hard and puts people on their heels. He also needs to be better at finishing at the rim.”
On Love: “I was really disappointed in him at the beginning of the year, but he’s gotten better all year long. Now he isn’t trying to do things he’s not capable of.”
