Jonah Ballow/Timberwolves site posts a rehab report on Al Jefferson:
I opened the training room door at the Target Center and became a fly on the wall to witness the Resurrection of a Rising Star (I now own the rights to that title). The 6-11 forward/center will miss the opportunity to bask in the Minnesota summer sun but will remain in the Twin Cities to regain stability in his knee. Longtime Wolves physical therapist Andre Deloya informs me that there will be some distractions in the training room on this day.
“You’re competing right now with me and In The Heat of the Night for his attention. This is going to be one of those tough days,” Deloya laughed. “He is a lovable this guy, I can tell you.”

Deloya (also known as Dre) plays the dual role of physical therapist and coach inside the room filled with ice buckets, training tables, and countless rows of surgical tape. To begin the rehab activities on this specific day, Deloya guides Jefferson through a series of stretches on his legs and hips so the big man gains some of the flexibility back in his lower body.
“He is right on schedule,” Deloya explained…
Now that Kevin Love’s rookie season is in the books: Were his impressive stats a result of progression, or the absence of Al Jefferson? Love averaged a double-double for three of the final four months of the season, and still only finished sixth in Rookie of the Year voting. The burly kid who starred at UCLA for a season and whose uncle is one of the Beach Boys, was pissed.
In all fairness, Love did finish 9th in the League in rebounding, but did he really have a better season than Derrick Rose, O.J. Mayo, Brook Lopez, Russell Westbrook, or Eric Gordon?
With rookie of the year Derrick Rose established as the No. 1 point guard, Hinrich’s name figures to come up in trade talks again this summer and it’s still a position of need for the Wolves.
