Owner Glen Taylor has refused to talk any Timberwolves basketball these days, while the fans wait for the appointment of a new general manager, and that person selects either Kevin McHale to remain as coach or picks a new coach. It wouldn’t shock a lot of people close to Taylor if he named Wolves assistant general manager Fred Hoiberg to the job. The word in NBA circles is that if it’s an outsider, it will be Tom Penn, the assistant general manager for the Portland Trail Blazers.
Aran Smith/NBADraft.net interviews Reebok Eurocamp Director and Timberwolves International Scouting Director Pete Philo
NBADraft.net: Last year you drafted Nikola Pekovic of Partizan. He is now playing in Panithinaikos having an outstanding season. He was basically the main guy at the final 4 in Berlin in which the coaching staff of each team had to prepare for and around. The Timberwolves have his draft rights. You picked him, that must be a good feeling knowing you got a steal as well as a very talented center for the future of the Wolves.
Pete Philo: Nikola is a very good basketball player. Yes he was very instrumental in how the coaches prepared for the games as he was basically unstoppable with single coverage. However, I cannot take full credit for drafting him. Kevin Mchale made the final decison with Jim stack and Fred hoiberg. I do my part and prepare our guys with all necessary International information in order to make a clear selection.

Parker said husband Shelden Williams, who plays for the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves, will also accompany the team on road trips and care for their daughter.
“Yes, he will definitely be helping – a lot,” Parker said. “He’s not getting off that easy.”
